while we are in Port Elizabeth next week I am visiting my friend Zoe's shop Scrapaholics.
this pic is a sneak peak of what we will be doing on Tuesday. there's the brown and blue version and then for those who prefer girly i have done a pink and lime version...which i really do quite like (shhhh don't tell)!
we are playing with all kinds of fun products along with the traditional papers and embellishments...and you will get to see how i incorporate my quirky way out ways into my regular layouts. and that's only in the morning.....

later the afternoon we are playing with more inks, embossing powders, UTEE, perfect pearls, grungepaper and other gorgeous products

sketch 206 is up over at Scrapbook Challenges! and boy was this a challenge...well at least in the beginning...see the 2 pager below - well maybe i should have stuck to the single and things would have been less of a challenge. funny how we sometimes struggle with mojo - that thing we believe we loose just because today's layout didn't quite turn out as the vision.

well with me it was simply a case of get down and just do it! and stick to your style, do what you like and in the end it will all come together!

the sketch worked perfectly with the program that i wanted to include on my layout. and once i ignored the little bits on the sketch and just do what was in my heart it really worked out quite well. sometimes you just shouldn't over-analyze something...but simplify!

this week over at scrap and stamp Saturday i have an easy paint resist tutorial for you. head on over to see what the other design team girls have done ...

you can create your own beautiful patterned papers and accents

you will need: white card stock, white acrylic paint, foam brush or sponge, craft sheet to protect your surface, distress ink or glimmer mist.

1. gather your supplies

2. add a dollop of white acrylic paint directly onto your card stock. use your sponge to move the paint around. leave some open spaces where the paint does not cover the card stock. leave the paint to dry naturally or use your heat gun to speed up the process.

3. using the direct to paper technique add some colour. drag your ink pad across the entire piece of card stock.

4. use a soft tissue or baby wipe to clean off the ink from the painted areas. because the paint resists the ink the ink simply sits on top of the paint and can be wiped clean.

5. some alternatives you may try: stamp images using foam stamps or detailed rubber stamps and then add your colour. they make for fun backgrounds, photo matts and accents on your layouts and cards.
