Kraft Essentials Double Page Layout.

What does Kraft Essentials, travel paper and Spar have in common? Well if you live in Gauteng then it all comes together in a double page layout about a horse. Yes strange but true, and it just goes to show how versatile the Lady Pattern Paper range is.
For this double page layout was inspired by the beautiful photos of Leo and Julianna. I drew inspiration from the purple and blue in the photos to use as my accent colour on the layout. For the rest it was a natural colour selection in the Kraft Essentials paper and then I found this gorgeous travel paper that worked perfectly in colour, pattern and texture. All of these elements together with a few embellishments I found at Spar and you have a gorgeous layout with interesting elements.
The kraft paper with blue stars on not only worked perfectly with my colour scheme but the tiny star pattern also compliments the theme and message of the layout. A few extra elements like the cut out sentiment strip sits perfectly on top of the different patterned papers adding another dimension.
The cute little paper clip elements were found at our local Spar. How funky are they? And perfect to add to any project for that extra pizzazz factor.
As part of my title, I punched a circle out of scrap paper, added a “L” rub-on and then dressed it up by adding a stamped paint circles and pencil scribbles all around it. This is such a simple but effective way to use up those older rub-ons in your stash.
To create flow I added paint splats in different colours to make all the patterned papers seem like one. The paint splats are the unifying element that tells your eye everything works together as a whole. A nifty little trick for unifying elements.
Another little element from Spar is this post it note that I altered by adding some stamped wording, sewing and embellishments.
Stencilling, stamping and buttons finish off my layout perfectly – adding some dimension and colour but not distracting too much from the photos.

And that’s how you can use a whole bunch of different elements in a supporting act together on your double page layout with the gorgeous Kraft Essentials paper from Lady Pattern Paper.

Summer Pool Party | Kaisercraft for The Wholesaler.

With the end of the year around the corner, more and more teenagers are planning some fun activities – especially the class of 2016. So instead of letting them head out on their own why not plan a fun and festive pool party for them complete with pink flamingos and lots of cool snack and sweet tubs? Today we share some fun ideas with you using a gorgeous range of scrapbooking paper as inspiration.
Start off the party with a fun invitation with a hint of the theme – complete with pink painted flamingos and lots of bright colours.

step 1 - Print the invitation onto white cardstock. Die cut flamingo out of white AC smooth cardstock. Use your Memento inks and All Purpose inks to add colour to the die-cut
step 2 - Use your Memento inks and All Purpose inks to add colour to the die-cuts. Add the ink to your craft sheet, then lightly mist with water. Use your Fantastix to pick up some ink and colour the die-cuts. Leave them to dry.

step 3 - Add some Brilliance gold ink to your craft sheet. Mist with water and pick up some of the ink with your Fantastix. Paint a layer of gold shimmer over your coloured flamingo die-cuts.

step 4 - Adhere a strip from the sticker border to the top of the invitation. Adhere the flamingo to the printed invitation. Use the same ink colours as before and a small paint brush to add ink splats to your invitation for some fun coloured effects.
step 5 - Punch leaves from your patterned paper and adhere to the side of your invitation. Scatter diamanté in between the leaves to finish off the invitations.
To minimize snack wastage, use small bamboo cups for small portions of food and chips. Decorate them with stickers, ribbon and die-cuts for a visual feast.
Use bright coloured paper straws and die cut flamingos to serve cold beverages. For the straws you can create a fun decorative element that won’t break the bank, but will certainly add to the festive feel and look.
step 6 - Punch small circles from paper scraps.

step 7 - Fold the circles in half and adhere them together. Adhere 5 punched and folded circles together.
step 8 - Adhere the circle element to the top of a drinking straw for a fun festive element.
step 9 - Create your own umbrellas instead of buying them. Punch large circles from your patterned paper.
step 10 - Cut a slit into the side of the circle to the middle.
step 11 - Add some Tombow adhesive to the one edge and fold it over the other edge to form the umbrella.
step 12 - Die cut some flowers and assemble them using some fun brads.
step 13 - Adhere the brads to the umbrella. Use a bamboo toothpick as the umbrella rod and use large beads to decorate the top of the umbrella. Add them to some of the drinks, food cups and even cupcakes to add to the theme of your party.
A healthy and easy dessert option is to make coloured jelly in recycled glass jars. Fill the top of the jars with coloured sweets and treats. Decorate the jars with cut out flowers, stickers and twine. Serve with funky wooden spoons.

Golden Ombre and Marble effects - Delicata inks.

The magic of gold and silver combined is truly timeless and classic - a wonderful play on metals. For this mother’s day card I used a combination of Delicata inks to create not only a beautiful stenciled Ombre effect, but also a lovely marble look on chipboard. The perfect combination for someone truly special
1. Ink a chipboard heart or shape by pressing gold Delicata ink repeatedly onto the chipboard. Move quickly onto the next step.

2. Cover the wet ink with a layer of clear embossing powder and then heat set using your heat gun.

3. Once the embossing powder has cooled down, lightly press a second colour of Delicata ink onto the embossed surface.
4. Heat the embossed image again. The powder will melt again and the wet ink will seep into the melted powder creating a beautiful faux marble look. Repeat this step with at least two more layers of ink and embossing - finishing off with a layer of embossing.
5. Create your background by panel. Secure a stencil to glossy cardstock. Use three colours of Delicata ink and stencil a Ombre effect onto the panel. TIP: Because the stencilled layer is so thin, the ink was dry in virtually no time at all with a quick heat set with my heat gun

6. Stamp the word ‘mum’ onto the front panel using Memento ink. Then adhere your Marble heart and finish off with some diamanté.
Technique TIP: Marbling with embossing powder and ink is a fun and easy technique. After each layer of ink, add a layer of clear embossing powder, then another layer of ink and another of clear embossing powder. Layer these until you are happy with the final look of the marble. You can also add some technique by stamping into the hot embossing powder for texture, or use a toothpick and scribble some texture into the hot embossing powder.

DIY Painted ruler board for The Wholesaler.

I am such a sucker for making things for my home. I love creating different things and swapping things out every now and again to change the look. As part of my current French farm house look I created this ruler board to put up on the side of my cupboard to fill in an empty spot and to add some interest.
Using my Silhouette and scrapbooking products makes creating things for the home so easy and versatile. I no longer see my scrapbooking tools and products as just that – they open a whole new world of creativity in and around my home. Making my home as much a part of my memory keeping process, as my scrapbooks.
So hop on over to The Wholesalers blog for a full step by step on how I created this ruler board using my Crafting supplies and Silhouette. The possibilities are endless.

DIY Modern Art Using The Silhouette.

DIY
So when it comes to art in your home, are you a creative person decorate? Well for me it is quick and simple – minimalistic in some ways but always classic and timeless. The Silhouette offers me the necessary help when it comes to getting the job done! For this project I used my Silhouette CAMEO to cut some modern shapes out of smooth white cardstock and then added some colour with my much loved Tsukineko All-Purpose Inks. I love how this project turned out.

New stamp sets from Chiswick – resist embossed card.

Have you seen the new stamp sets from Chiswick? Well if not you are in for a real treat as they as simply wonderful. My favorite I think for now is the heart set. It has a whole bunch of hearts on it – perfect for anything from the grungy teenager to the romantic soul.
For this resist card I used the scribble heart – and simply love the outcome.
Embossing and resist is still one of my favorite go-to techniques when it comes to stamps.
It is such a versatile and effective way of adding patterns and interest to a card.
step 1 – Stamp the heart image onto white cardstock using Versamark ink pad.
step 2 – Sprinkle the stamped image liberally with white pearl embossing powder.
Shake off the excess embossing powder and return it to the container.
step 3 – Use your Chiswick heat gun and heat the image until the embossing powder is fully melted.
The powder is melted when the image turns shiny all over.
TIP: Make sure the entire image is heated and the powder melted – let it cool down before inking the image.
step 4 – Add some dye ink onto your craft sheet. Mist the ink with water and then dip the embossed image into the ink. The ink will take to the cardstock and the embossed image will resist the ink.
Use a soft cloth to wipe any ink that may sit on top of the embossed surface.
The white images against the inked background is such a beautiful effect.
