and if you get lost just head on over here to find your way....
SBC http://scrapbookchallenges.com/sbc-blog/

I used the sketch and stretched things to turn it into my beloved double pages. Most of the sketch is visible on the right of my layout and it pretty much took on it's own life from there on.
i used a stencil with some texture paste on the background and lightly inked it using gold Mr Huey inks to add some colour. i also made some marble circles to add more colour and pattern
some delicate cut-outs from patterned paper repeating the colours throughout the layout
fabric strips and stickers used in the perfect colour combination.
here are some of the fabulous prizes up for grab if you play along with us

now it's time to head on over to Emmy's blog and see what she did with the sketch
we hope you have an awesome time. there's loads of activity happening around the site with games and hunts. so if you have nothing planned for this weekend, why not spend it with us being creative. now go and get your scrap on :-)

Devi

and here's what i did....
for my background i added some tracks using my black versafine ink pad and a little red jeep car to ride all over my white card stock. i then set about to add my photos and patterned paper pieces. i added some stamped images using distress stains, metal hinges and some really old rub-ons from various companies. the red patterned paper is a piece of Christmas paper that i snuck into the mix for fun...you could never tell could you?

and some of the amazing give-aways up for grab this weekend are...

and also up for grabs is a custom make over for your blog from Brynn herself (i wish) *hint*hint. hope you will have an awesome weekend and play along with us...

blog hop.

welcome to the scrapbook challenges seasons of change bloghop! If you have joined me here from Nanette then you are in the right place - if not go the Brynn's blog and start there to join us and qualify for some awesome give-aways.
I am so please to be a part of this wonderful creative family spread all over the world! I am jowilna and a returning design team member of scrapbook challenges. I love paper or am rather addicted to it, love photography and being creative. I share my passion here on my blog and spend my days teaching scrapbooking and card making. in my spare time when i am not organizing my workspace i write craft books. I hope you will join us and spend a creative weekend with all of us. We look forward to seeing you around the scrapbook challenges site.

this time around i opted for a card using the fabulous design by Brynn Marie. after having completed a layout i thought it a bit too personal and then made this card - BUT only after i received an awesome parcel from some special people in Durban (more about them later)with those gorgeous postage stamps on them. being such a stamp recycling freak i set about getting them off the packaging immediately to use on this card.
the sketch is so versatile and perfect for a quick card. The orange sprayed card stock is a left-over piece from a class we did last Saturday - see i recycle everything! the rest are scraps from my table and the colours just worked beautifully together.
give-aways
remember by just being a part of this bloghop you can win some awesome goodies!
1 person leaving a comment on all the blogs will receive a pack of Cosmo Cricket paper (Salt air collection - oh yummy!)
1 person will receive a $20 gift certificate from Scrapbook.com if you make a layout based on the sketch in the hop on section
and then there are some Ranger goodies up for grabs too - my favourite!
so please play along 'cause someone has to win all these goodies!
some close-ups of my card just for fun...
it's now time for you to HOP ON to Emilia to see what she has in store for you inspiration wise!
hope you have a fabulous weekend hopping around the web with us. remember to pop into scrapbook challenges and become a member for tons of inspiration.

scrapbook challenges blog hop...thanks Pamela.

welcome to this 'ultra' special blog hop! if you have landed here via Shelly then you are in the right spot! But to start the blog hop you need to go to Brynn's blog.
i am Jowilna and have been a part of this wonderful creative family for a time now (and i absolutely adore them all). i am an addictive scrapper, card maker, mixed media artist, journalist and published writer of craft books! yes i love what i do! i found scrapbook
challenges via Pamela's blog and fell in love with her style and personality! Pamela started scrapbook challenges and has been a great source of inspiration, but she is taking a time out to spend with her family and so Brynn has taken over and will head up the group. Such capable hands i may add too! she is so ultra creative with the digi stuff.
thanks for popping in!
we are celebrating National scrapbook day but also celebrating our friend, fellow scrapper, mentor and creative spirit Pamela Young! please join us as we celebrate her creative spirit when she started this awesome group - share her vision as you are inspired and play along with us this weekend 'cause there are awesome prizes up for grabs!

for this challenge we each picked a favourite sketch that Pamela made and here is my sketch i picked - sketch # 158. here is what the original sketch looks like...
and here is what i did with it! the layout is a 8x8inch and so cool. i have forgotten how fun it is too scrap on a smaller scale (so quick). my patterned paper is wrapping paper and i just thought the pretty images are so feminine and peaceful in a strange way. the photo is of water drops on a lotus Lilly leaf in our pond - they remind me of the many tears i have cried in life.
can you relate? salty tears really is great therapy!
and some close-ups of my layout. some recycled packaging by Margie from the girl's
paperie - i so love that pink writing
i added some circles cut out of my wrapping paper that i used as patterned paper. i inked the edges and added them overlapping the same pattern for a really interesting look.
a beautiful butterfly by making memories and some pearls by kaisercraft.
give-aways are at the order of the day....
remember that there are some awesome goodies up for grabs like Fancy Pants paper packs and tim holtz goodies (oohhh)! so now it is your turn to hop on and then visit scrapbook challenges and join in all the fun!
now it is time to hop on over to the fabulously creative Marilyn for some more inspiration!
