i finally got around to finish off some cards. i have about 100 odd backgrounds done with scraps of patterned papers and plain card stock - all i need to do is add a stamped image, some embellishments or wording and whalaa...but even that seems to be a mission these days. but the other night it wasn't that cold and i could actually see what i was doing - Jayson added some lights just above my work table because i have been moaning about not being able to see...so no more excuses. the lights themselves were a mission...climbing a 6 meter high thatch roof on a ladder is not his favourite thing to do. but it is done!

the first card showcases one of my favourite PSX (personal stamp exchange) stamps! they really had a wonderful quality and the designs were / are awesome.

this card was done by letting large drops of bleach trickle over Bazzill Basics card stock to create the background effect.

the last card was finished off with a happy birthday sentiment by MSE (my sentiments exactly) a grungeboard flower and some bling.

This week's sketch over at scrapbook challenges is another stunner. Pamela really knows how to deliver. i opted for the two page version for my layout this week. i also did away with much of the white space and used white card stock for my background instead. the rest pretty much happened. white card stock really is a wonderful blank canvas to work on - pretty much anything can and will happen. for a chance to win some stunning prizes head on over to scrapbook challenges.

i scrapped some photos of a 'world cup' dinner we had in may just before the world cup started officially. apart from dinner we got up to quite a bit of mischief and laughed until we cried! literally! the only way i was going to get to like my vuvuzela was to bling it out (or pimp it). i am sure elizna will love it :-)

although i did not attend any matches myself - we still got into the spirit of such a great once in a lifetime event. and yes the excitement was quite contagious - and any one who denies it is lying. let me know what you think!

Tuesday is another hectic day as we finish off the last of the photos of my new book. at least i have prepared most of the steps and got all the messy stuff behind me - this helps us save time in the studio! then comes the hard work of proof reading, finalizing the cover and layout and tweeking to get the look i have envisioned for this baby! i still love publishing with every part of my being - in spite of the hard work - very few people actually get! each time i buy a magazine i take a little moment to reflect on just what it takes to put such a publication together from concept to freshly printed proofs! hope you have a fabulous week! watch out for a fun 2010 world cup layout in tomorrows addition of scrapbook challenges.

this week over at scrap and stamp Saturday we are using buttons! i can't complain as they are one of my favourite things to use on cards and layouts.
